LEarn about Lisa Vilge's Journey at BSC
Congratulations to our March 2026 Athlete of the Month, Lisa Vilge!
Where were you in your fitness journey before BSC and where are you now?
I didn’t have any fitness background, most of the physical activity was running after my kids and keeping up with their pace. When they grew up a little bit, I finally found a time to take care of myself. Also, my friend was posting videos from her BSC training and I was very impressed by her progress. The BSC is perfectly located by our former preschool so I gave it a shot. Well, the beginning was hard for me, it took a while to figure out all the barbell routine. Was very surprised by the amount of support and help and cheers, amazing how the “good job!” (That we so often say to our kids) affecting and motivating grown up people! Today, i’m still at the beginning of my journey but with more clear vision and goals.
What were your goals when you started, and have you achieved any of them?
The goal was to become a healthier and happier person and to address all kind of postpartum issues. I definitely achieved it and even more than that, met an amazing group of people, became stronger and I finally learned all the CrossFit abbreviations! The new goal is to do push up and pull up without bends.
What about BSC makes you keep coming back?
The challenge to finish the workout, the endorphins that are kicking in after that and of course the best coaches! Every time I learn something new, getting new tips on how to hold, breathe, recover, stretch etc. I always feel every class is like a private training, all the coaches are very attentive and informative even with 20ppl in the class.
When/what was your "ah ha!" moment?
I still have a lot to learn and to achieve. So far, for me it was a rope climbing, didn’t get to the top yet, but 3 steps up was a huge deal for me, at the beginning it looked like absolutely impossible to do.
Does anyone at the gym (member or trainer) inspire you and why?
Everyone is a hard worker and inspiration to me, especially the Power Hour ladies!
Coach Natalie always brightens the room with her energy, coach Sasha always has small tips that make big difference, coach Danielle is absolute bada** mama (have no idea how she does that), Ryda is a fun one - pretending to be tired then squatting 200 😆, Natalia is very knowledgeable and dedicated athlete, Jessica is my motivation and my gym bro. I can keep on going…but most of all, it’s Mike and Christine who know to find the right people and bring them all together!
